How to Upload Individual Users to Your Company Via a CSV File

Note: Establishing Company Hierarchies

If you wish to designate company members within different frameworks—such as companies and sub-companies—these hierarchies must be created when you begin the process. From that point on, users who fit into these hierarchies will be correctly placed when they are uploaded into the system..   1. Creating and Formatting Your CSV files:

Creating a CSV file is easier to manage and format with spreadsheet software, like Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.

At the top of each column, add the following headers:

  • First Name
  • Last Name
  • Email
  • Company Name

NOTE

When creating your CSV file, make sure your data is formatted correctly to avoid potential inconsistencies that might make it difficult to track data. This includes paying attention to lower-case vs. upper-case letters and/or trailing spaces.

  1. Uploading Your CSV File:

TIP

Before completing your first upload, it’s a good idea to complete a trial import run with a file that contains about 25 lines of data.

This can help with initial troubleshooting and make it easier to trace the source of any potential errors in smaller sets of data.

  1. On the top-right corner of the AMA Suite, click on My Account.
  2. On the side panel, select List of Customers to open the List of Customers page.
  3. Underneath the drop-down menu, click on the Upload Customers link.

  1. On the Upload Customers page, click the Choose File button and select your desired CSV file. Then, click the Upload button. 

Once your file has been uploaded, newly registered customers will receive an email to create their accounts and set their passwords.

NOTE

While you can successfully upload a CSV file with pre-existing customers, you will still receive a 'duplicate' cells error notification, but any new customers you have included will still be uploaded.
